چکیده

SIGNIFICANCE This study evaluates the reliability and validity of an automatic method external internal limbal points identification from anterior segment optical coherence tomography (OCT) images in comparison with manual delineation. PURPOSE The purpose this work was to evaluate repeatability precision a previously proposed compare them delineation by experienced clinicians terms limbus diameter. METHODS Optical tomograms obtained for 12 healthy volunteers without history eye diseases were analyzed. Fifteen OCT captured each patient. For all images, determined using both methods. diameters used as comparative parameter between methods under consideration. statistical analysis included mean, standard deviation, Passing-Bablok regression, Pearson correlation coefficient. RESULTS A strong linear dependence identified. While compared subjective estimates clinicians, technique overestimated diameter (bias equals 0.21 mm optometrist 0.23 ophthalmologist) slightly underestimated 0.13 0.04 ophthalmologist). showed significantly better than case comparably high recognition. CONCLUSIONS Because excellent repeatability, may be successfully estimation dynamic changes geometry eye, where large number needs processed automatically precision.

Automatic segmentation of anterior segment optical coherence tomography images.

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) images can provide quantitative measurements of the eye's entire anterior segment. A new technique founded on a newly proposed level set-based shape prior segmentation model has been developed for automatic segmentation of the cornea's anterior and posterior boundaries. This technique comprises three major steps: removal of regions containing irrelevant struct...

Measurement of the limbus-insertion distance in adult strabismus patients with anterior segment optical coherence tomography.

PURPOSE To determine the ability of the anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT) in measuring the distance from the corneoscleral limbus to the insertion site of the horizontal extraocular muscles in adult patients with strabismus. METHODS A total of 16 strabismus patients were recruited for this study. The limbus-insertion distances of the horizontal rectus muscles were measure...

Anterior Segment Time Domain Optical Coherence Tomography

To compare anterior segment parameters using quantitative imaging by anterior segment time domain optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT) and high frequency ultrasound biomicroscopy (HF-UBM). SETTING: Department of Ophthalmology at Bari University. METHODS: Seventy-two eyes of 72 subjects had anterior segment evaluation by AS-OCT (Stratus ver 6Zeiss) and HF-UBM (OTI-Scan HF35-50). Central corneal...

[Anterior segment optical coherence tomography in glaucoma].

In recent years, the rapid development of diagnostic optic devices has generated optical coherence tomography (OCT) as a new, non-invasive diagnostic method. With technical progress of the infrared spectrum at 1,310 nm, OCT of the anterior segment also became feasible. With anterior segment OCT different examinations which so far were ruled out by ultrasound in contact manner could be executed ...

Anterior segment optical coherence tomography in acute anterior uveitis.

PURPOSE To analyze the corneal thickness and anterior chamber (AC) angle using anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT) in patients with acute anterior uveitis (AAU). METHODS Twenty two patients (24 eyes) were included. All patients underwent complete ophthalmological examination, applanation tonometry and AS-OCT at diagnosis and fifteen days after treatment. RESULTS Average c...
